In 1995, carrying on the legacy of his teacher, Sahli founded the Sahli School of Art in Evergreen, Colorado.

"My teacher taught, his teacher taught, and I wanted to keep this tradition alive and give something back. It's also a critical aspect of the artistic process... it helps one articulate what one is thinking and doing. I have learned from the process, and I am a much better painter since I began teaching."

Since that time, Don Sahli has taught over 70 studio and plein air classes in Evergreen, Vail and Breckenridge, Colorado; Wilmington, North Carolina; Spring Island, South Carolina and Pecos, New Mexico. More than 500 students, from all corners of the country, have traveled to study with Don Sahli to learn Art of Painting. Offering small, intimate classes, never more that 15 students, allows Don to skillfully meet the needs of each individual student's own artistic journey.

Today, the school is venturing into new territory with an Interactive DVD Collection, produced with state of the art technology that enables Don Sahli to continue to share his knowledge and understanding of the Art of Painting, This venue allows artists to have Don Sahli in their own studio, teaching one-on-one through a multitude of interactive DVD choices providing yet another a safe place venue the "hungry" student to learn and grow.
